Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Somerset Silver Palms K-12 and Congratulations Stallions! We have a lot to be proud of. Thanks to the commitment of the School's faculty, staff, parents, and students, Silver Palms is again an A school.

My name is Kenneth Feria and I am honored to have been selected by the Somerset Board of Directors to lead such a prestigious institution as its Principal. With that honor come many challenges, but with my 15 years-experience in diverse schools, I welcome them and look forward to focusing all my efforts on the school's achievements. I hold a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Miami.

My experience includes work at the elementary, middle, high, and adult education levels. Most recently, I spent the last four years working as an administrator at one of our sister schools, Mater Academy, ranked as one of the best in the country by Newsweek and US News & World Report.

Being a school of choice has given us the opportunity to create a unique and impressive educational environment that has afforded our students and our school many accolades, but we have not worked alone. We are only able to achieve greatness when we combine the strengths and talents of a school community: students, faculty, staff, and parents. As part of the Somerset family, we are united in our efforts to define excellence and make a better world possible.

I am full of hopes and high expectations of a new beginning, knowing that every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.
